AP Manager

As the Accounts Payable (AP) Manager, you will oversee the entire accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement of AP processes. You will lead and mentor a sizable team of AP accountants, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the department.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AP accountants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve AP processes and systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes for the AP department.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to drive continuous improvement and efficiency in the AP function.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance and successful audit outcomes.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable management.

Core Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounts payable or related finance roles, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, systems, and best practices.
• Proven track record of setting up processes and implementing new initiatives in complex organizational environments.
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
