Android Developer
Growing software company looking to hire an experienced, self-motivated Android developer to expand our native Android app. You’ll be directly impacting our mobile user experience by implementing new features that extend real-time communication abilities across our platform. This is a remote position. Candidate must be a resident of the United States and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preference will be given to candidates with a similar timezone: Mountain Standard Time.
Job Description:
- Own the full mobile application development lifecycle
- Develop, test, and deploy user interface, services, and data components for complex mobile application
- Code, debug, test, and maintain applications to meet requirements
Technical requirements:
- Proficiency with current Android development practices (Java and Kotlin)
- Experience implementing Android User Interface Guidelines and Android lifecycle management
- Experience using the Google Play Developer Console
- Passion for great user experience, code quality, and testing
- Experience using REST APIs and implementing third party libraries
- Familiarity with Git
The ideal candidate:
- Comfortable taking ownership of the Android product and implementing sweeping changes
- Experience with production applications and startup timelines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to communicate effectively with peers (written/verbal)
- Understanding of the application and activity lifecycles, threading, and memory management
- Experience with agile software development methodologies (e.g., scrum)
- Knowledge of common framework libraries, firebase, etc..
