Android Developer II - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Android Developer II to join the Engineering Team! Individual reports to AVP, Engineering: eCommerce. Role is remote - must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You’ll participate in developing both current and future products. This role is primarily focused on Android app development alongside our iOS apps. 

Your usual day of awesomeness includes: 

• Hit the ground running, start by strong feature development on a best-in-class android app.
• Develop, maintain, and extend our current native app (Kotlin).
• Work to improve and extend our current backend systems and APIs.
• Ability to discuss, participate and strategize our Apps technical roadmap.
• Understand how to balance technical objectives with business priorities.
• Research and develop proof of concepts exploring new technologies and techniques.

• Docker and Kubernetes
• Rest APIs and JSON
• Microservices

WHAT YOU BRING

• Self Motivated and Self Starter.
• Passionate about the end user experience to a fault!
• Love learning new approaches and techniques.
• Leadership with testing, continuous integration, build management for Android.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in the latest user interface design patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Ability to express yourself clearly and work well with others.
• 2-5 years’ experience working in software development.
• Experience in multiple languages, frameworks and technologies.
• Knowledge of targeting and supporting a wide variety of Android devices.
• Strong understanding of various development approaches (MVP, MVVM, VIPER, etc).

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $115,000 - $120,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
