Job Description

About the Opportunity 

Reporting to the Head of Urgent Challenges, you will be part of a team that is primarily responsible for addressing urgent challenges, triaging requests from our Founders and delivering responses to humanitarian crises in some of the world’s most demanding environments. In 2024, nearly 300 million people in the world needed humanitarian assistance and protection due to conflicts, climate emergencies and other drivers with more people displaced now than any other time since the beginning of the century. If Minderoo is to forge a fair future, we have a role to play in supporting those impacted so that suffering is reduced and lives are saved during urgent global crises. To date Minderoo’s Crisis Response journey has aided individuals across Afghanistan, Turkiye & Syria, Ukraine, Gaza and Papua New Guinea.

 As a member of this agile and responsive team, your day to day will include: 

  • Remaining up to date with global trends and current affairs

  • Conducting research and analysis on new and emerging issues, and potential intervention opportunities. 

  • Supporting the evaluation and selection of potential partners for funding. 

  • Completing partner due diligence and associated partnership activities including drafting of donation letters and agreements. 

  • Supporting partners from engagement and onboarding through learning conversations, to close outs. 

Qualifications

About You 

The successful candidate will have proven experience in project management and partnership engagement, as well as a deep interest in social impact, philanthropy or not for profit management.

In addition, you will have: 

  • A formal degree in International Relations or Development, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Science, or Law with 2-3 years’ post grad experience.

  • Passion for global politics and the humanitarian sector. 

  • Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills with a focus on outcome driven solutions. 

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, data analysis and presentation tools. 

In terms of soft skills, you will be collaborative with a team player mentality, and a focus on interpersonal relationship building.
