Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) is a specialty advisory firm within the Edelman network that owns the firm’s government and public affairs and business advisory services. We have rebranded public affairs to advisory better to capture the evolution and future of this sector. Advisory services combine business strategy, government affairs, public affairs, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and political risk analysis to help clients navigate changing political and economic dynamics. Joining the EGA team will provide team members with the opportunity to be involved in the building of this growing firm—from creating a new culture, to redefining public affairs services. Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications and Public Affairs Associate to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position will play a critical role in supporting media relations efforts, digital media strategies, and client project management. The ideal candidate will have experience in researching media targets, drafting and pitching media stories, and will also possess a solid understanding of social media platforms and digital best practices. You will work closely with senior team members to support client accounts, manage deliverables, and contribute to the success of public affairs campaigns. Experience in political communications is a plus.


Scope of Work


· Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, and influencers to identify key targets for client stories.

· Draft compelling media pitches and assist in pitching stories to journalists across various platforms.

· Monitor media coverage and compile reports to measure the impact of efforts.

· Assist in managing social media platforms, developing content, and ensuring adherence to best practices.

· Support client leaders in tracking client deliverables, timelines, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

· Assist in preparing materials for client presentations and meetings.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute integrated communications and public affairs campaigns.

· Stay informed on media trends and digital innovations to enhance client strategies.

· Maintain client files and ensure all project details are up-to-date and organized.

· Consistently deliver high-quality internal and external content often under tight timelines and with competing priorities.

· Work with internal and external partners, including industry coalitions, multinational organizations and industry working groups.

· Develop biographical and policy briefings including conducting research to inform client facing documents.

Build relationships with colleagues at all levels.


Basic Qualifications


· Atleast2+ years of experience in government, NGOs, associations, or private firms leading work related to relevant region or sector.

· Background or degree in politics/law/policy/business.

· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

· Building expertise in the politics of a sector or region.


Preferred Qualifications


· Proficiency conducting thorough research, analyzing information, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.

· Knowledge of geopolitics, politics and policy of a region or a sector.

· Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

· Client and interpersonal skills, proficient at effectively conveying information through various communication channels such as phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Ability to tailor messages to different audiences and engage in persuasive communication.

· Proactive nature and a willingness to actively contribute and assist in special projects and tasks whenever required.

· Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

· Strong writing and editing skills to ensure clarity, persuasion, and polish for content, documents, and other written materials.

· Digital literacy through the use of social and digital tools, channels, and platforms that drive public affairs activities with clients.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
