The Analytics Development Program is a full-time, two-year rotational program for new or recent graduates interested in working in Data Analytics. As a Development Program Associate, individuals will rotate through 3 areas within Merchandising Services (e.g., Product Flow, Pricing, Advanced Analytics, Reporting, etc.) where they will be embedded into the business and own day-to-day responsibilities as well as a project for each rotation.
Individuals will receive hands-on training and support to provide a solid foundation in data analytics, as well as a broad understanding of how analytics is applied across Meijer. Upon successful completion of the program and based on business need and preferences, individuals will be placed in a full-time Analytics role within the organization.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Apply quantitative methods, data mining, modeling, and analytical tools to identify and solve business problems relevant to current rotation
- Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on strategy, approach, recommendations, and implementation resulting from analysis
- Develop, visualize, and present business cases and recommendations in a way that intuitively communicates impact and drives effective business decisions
- Collaborate and build strong relationships to fuel continuous improvement and ensure internal customers’ needs are met
- Execute and monitor scoreboards and other set-cadence reporting
- Leverage disparate data sources to drive a holistic understanding of complex business problems
- Own and implement a distinct data analytics project in each rotation
- Develop analytical skillset through a combination of formal training, mentoring, and on-the-job learning

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree - Finance, Marketing, Data Science, Economics, Supply Chain, Retail.
- 1 year of previous data analytics experience preferred.
- Experience utilizing data analytics and visualization tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Knowledge of and experience with coding languages, including but not limited to SQL, R, SAS, Python
- Ability to gather, analyze, interpret, and present data to help influence and drive decisions in an ambiguous environment
- Experience working across organizational boundaries to drive improvements and efficiencies
- Active curiosity – Must enjoy gathering and digging deeply into data to identify opportunities and risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
