The Aladdin Business Development team engages with prospective clients to understand strategic business challenges and deliver mission-critical solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong GTM strategy and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to drive Aladdin sales.
  • Create strategic plans for each applicable relationship or account to identify sales and new solution opportunities.
  • Have a strong working relationship with prospects to support the end-to-end sales cycle, from deal origination to contracting.
  • Liaise with the client's senior stakeholders and provide strong leadership for the Aladdin relationship.
  • Establish and maintain C-level relationships and introduce BlackRock senior executives to foster and expand these relationships both horizontally and vertically within the account.
  • Develop strong relationships across all groups within Aladdin to ensure an excellent client experience and convey client requirements to product teams as necessary.
  • Have vision for where the investment management industry is going and BlackRock’s potential roles in influencing that direction.
  • Leadership and management skills to be the cultural flag-bearer with the ability to inspire people.

Skills And Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess some combination of all the following:

  • Background in investment management and technology and deep knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading sales, relationship management or a comparable client facing role with commercial impact, in the financial or software industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional organization lines and be effective in a global organization.
  • Ability to uncover and analyze the need of external client organization, translate these into solutions, and communicate their value proposition and benefits; builds strong working partnerships with clients and internal organization; acts with urgency and works hard to address client demands; effectively manages clients’ expectations and delivers value-added service.
  • Understands business, financial and technical terminology, including how organizations operate, compete, profit and grow. Keeps abreast of developments in own field and considers how this knowledge can be applied.
  • Understands the nuances of the Canadian asset management and asset owner market with its specific approaches to investing
  • Leads individuals and team to achieve objectives and drive results; inspires and motivates people to the highest levels of performance. Is accessible, engaged and a positive force for change. Provides timely and actionable feedback.
  • Committed to gaining relevant knowledge, skills and experience in commercial markets; utilizes market expertise and savvy to leverage this role; stays passionate about the business and maintains current knowledge about competitor products and services.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Strong problem solving/analytical thinking.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients.
  • Technologically “aware” to be conversant with clients and visualize opportunities. Technology knowledge is important, but a deep skillset is not necessary.
  • Ability to operate as a self-starter, operating with limited guidance in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment; able to manage multiple priorities.


 

For Toronto, Canada Only the salary range for this position is CAD$142,000.00 - CAD$195,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
