Leidos is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer responsible for providing hands on technical expertise with repeatable offerings (RO’s) within the Information Advantage Technical Practice. Preferred work location is Leidos Headquarters, in Reston, VA; however, this position can support a hybrid work option for qualified candidates within a commutable distance from Reston.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Information Advantage Practice Sales Engineer, you’ll be a critical bridge between technical expertise and business development. Your role will focus on promoting Leidos solutions to federal clients, ensuring alignment with their needs and driving successful adoption of Leidos repeatable offerings. Duties may include developing innovative approaches and solutions, using non-quantitative tools and guidelines from experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Expertise:
- Maintain a deep understanding of Leidos Repeatable Offerings and be able to articulate technical benefits, features, and use cases to potential clients.
- Stay informed about AI/ML and automation trends, competitive landscape and emerging technologies to effectively position Leidos capabilities and offerings.
- Direct strategic initiatives to enhance the Leidos offerings portfolio, leveraging your deep technical knowledge and industry insights.
Client Engagement:
- Be the AI/ML and automation Practice engineer that works with Leidos business development and account management to identify customer requirements and propose tailored solutions and offerings.
- Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations and workshops for government customers.
- Develop and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to drive strategic opportunities and long-term partnerships.
- Provide consulting and thought leadership to influence client decision-making and drive project success.
Solution Architecture:
- Partner with Leidos capture teams, solutions architects, and engineers to design solutions that meet customer requirements and tailor repeatable offerings accordingly.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges impacting multiple sectors, using creative problem-solving and advanced technical expertise
- Architect and oversee the implementation of large-scale, high-impact AI solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational and client strategic goals.
- Champion best practices and lead efforts to continuously improve and evolve Leidos's Information Advantage offerings based on market trends and client feedback.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with practice team members, client stakeholders, and external partners, including sub-contractors and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Influence practice area and sector leaders on solution design and process improvements, advocating for strategic approaches and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure the successful delivery of complex, multi-dimensional projects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters (preferred) and 15+ experience in software development or software engineering roles, with a robust background in designing, implementing, and optimizing solutions in cloud and data center environments; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Extensive experience in AI/ML and automation concepts.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying scalable applications using both established and cutting-edge programming languages. Familiarity with legacy programming languages is advantageous.
- Extensive understanding of classical ML techniques as well as Generative AI including Agentic patterns.
- Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of leading teams in the implementation of AI/ML and automation solutions, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Ability to effectively manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in dynamic, large-scale environments.

Pay Range:Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
