TEGNA seeks a highly collaborative and results-driven AI Solutions Lead to bridge the gap between business needs and AI solutions. In this role, you will partner with a matrixed business organization to identify opportunities for AI implementation, translate those needs into clear requirements for our offshore development team, and oversee the successful execution and delivery of AI solutions. You will act as a subject matter expert and product manager, guiding the offshore team, managing timelines and releases, and ensuring effective stakeholder communication. Responsibilities:
• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders across different departments (e.g., content, marketing, sales) to understand their challenges and identify opportunities where AI solutions can drive efficiency, innovation, and business value.
• Solution Design & Delivery: Translate business requirements into detailed specifications and user stories for the offshore development team. Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of AI solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical feasibility.
• Offshore Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the offshore development team, providing clear direction, technical guidance, and ongoing support. Foster a collaborative and productive working relationship, effectively bridging any communication and cultural gaps.
• Project Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple AI projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Define project scope, timelines, and resources, and ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Proactively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the onshore business teams and the offshore development team.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and technologies. Identify new opportunities to leverage AI for competitive advantage and contribute to TEGNA's culture of innovation.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, including Agile methodologies, using project management tools (e.g., Jira), and collaborating effectively.
• Team Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate cross-functional and offshore teams, with a focus on clear communication and cultural sensitivity.
• Technical Awareness: Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and data literacy to effectively integrate and manage AI solutions.
• Business Acumen: Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to align AI solutions with business objectives and drive impactful outcomes.
• Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a technology-focused role, with a strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and applications.
• Proven experience working in an onshore-offshore model, leading and managing remote development teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, project management tools (Jira), and collaboration platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI platforms (AWS, Azure) and data solutions.
• Knowledge of the media industry, news production workflow and /or Prospect to Pay workflows is highly desirable.
