About the role:

As an AI Product Engineer at Arcee, you will play a critical role in the development and enhancement of our GenAI product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Researchers, Machine Learning Engineers, and the Product team, to design, implement, and optimize our product. Your expertise will drive the creation of robust, scalable, and high-performance AI solutions that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement AI models, particularly Large Language Models, to support the GenAI product.
• Collaborate with Researchers and Engineers to preprocess data, to design training pipelines, and to optimize model performance.
• Work closely with Product peers to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct experiments to test and validate model improvements, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain LLMs in production, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and Machine Learning, incorporating best practices into the development process.
• Document and communicate technical details and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

What we’re seeking:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying AI models, particularly Large Language Models.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face,  transformers, TRL, alignment-handbook, MergeKit, sagemaker, eval-harness, mlflow.
• Experience with data preprocessing, model training, hyperparameter tuning, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of deep learning architectures, including transformers and attention mechanisms.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques and applications.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment of AI models.
• Prior experience in a Product-focused role, working closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders.
• Publications or contributions to the AI/ML community.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Arcee.AI emerged from the brainstorming of three co-founders – Mark McQuade, Jacob Solawetz, & Brian Benedict – who envisioned a platform that would allow companies to use SLMs to fuel innovation while still retaining full control over their data and models.
