KBR is seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner to support the NAVAIR Aviation Logistics Environment (ALE) Integrated Product Team (IPT), with a specific focus on the Maintenance Engineering Ground Station for Aviation (MEGA) team. This position involves close collaboration with stakeholders to gather aviation maintenance requirements and convert them into actionable user stories for development teams. The ideal candidate will have deep subject matter expertise in USN/USMC aviation maintenance operations, with a preference for familiarity with platforms such as H-1, H-60, P-8, MQ-4C, and MQ-25. This is a dynamic, high-impact role that requires strategic thinking, technical understanding, and a strong ability to align product development with end-user needs. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the liaison between stakeholders and the development team, translating USN/USMC aviation maintenance requirements—particularly for platforms like H-1, H-60, P-8, MQ-4C, and MQ-25—into clear user stories and prioritized backlog items.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews) and oversee the product lifecycle to ensure alignment with customer goals, value stream mapping, and mission impact.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in aviation maintenance diagnostics to inform software design, testing, and product release strategies, ensuring continuous delivery of value.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads, project managers, and external stakeholders to drive communication, integration, and planning across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Participate in ongoing requirements development, roadmap planning, software performance evaluation, and the customization and deployment of ALE IT Portfolio systems.
  • Technical Skills/Acumen: Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, etc.) and product lifecycle management. Demonstrated experience interpreting aviation maintenance policies from a diagnostics perspective.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Citizenship & Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required.

Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA & 5 years of experience as an Agile Software Product Owner (or equivalent role).
  • OR AA/AS & 9 years of experience.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED & 13 years of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with managing software development/customization teams a plus.
  • Understanding and wide application of advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques in Product Data Management, Project Management, Requirements Gathering, User Acceptance, Major Upgrades, Software implementation, and validation, a plus.
  • Subject matter expertise in USN/USMC aviation maintenance for platforms such as H-1, H-60, P-8, MQ-4C, or MQ-25.
  • Experience managing software development/customization teams for defense or aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM), value stream mapping, and requirements traceability.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.

Work setting: Flexible telework. On-site meetings occur primarily in Patuxent River, MD- must be able to attend when needed.

Travel: Occasional- stateside (~1-2 events per quarter).

Compensation: $103,155, 143,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
