About the role

You will be a qualified and experienced Agile Product Owner and/or come from a background of managing customers in the FinTech industry. You will be passionate about change and will embrace the risk of failure in your path to success. You will operate within a team of enthusiastic industry experts on capabilities that deliver critical customer lifecycle outcomes such as billing, pricing, reconciliation and funding. You understand how consumer demand is driving the need for faster data and faster movement of money between consumers and businesses. You will be bold in driving change and have the confidence to deliver high quality enhancements on critical processes for some of the world’s most recognized brands. You will be passionate about learning the needs of different customer verticals ranging from retail and airlines through insurance to crypto and marketplaces.

About the team

The Product team delivers best in class pricing, billing and reconciliation experiences for our North America customers while simplifying and enhancing process for our internal operational teams. We manage a complex billing system with top-tier technology, adhering to high industry standards. You will join a successful SAFe aligned team of product owners, each supporting a dedicated scrum team.

What you will be doing 

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for supporting the development of features from ideation through to implementation and roll out to ensure they meet our customer and operational needs for our Mainframe Billing application. You will need to:

  • You will work closely with product management and business stakeholders to truly understand our product strategy, the wider industry context, Strategic Initiatives and problems and opportunities for our customers, internal teams and operational colleagues
  • You will take ownership of refinement of these opportunities with your scrum team to create features and stories that deliver real value and meet the team’s Definition of Ready.
  • You will clearly articulate the priority and desired outcome of items in the team backlog and ensure it is maintained at a high level of quality
  • You and your team will provide regular demonstrations of your work to maintain a feedback loop with critical stakeholders
  • You will own your changes from end to end – investigating and resolving issues, obtaining feedback, and constantly seeking improvement
  • You and your team will support the operational teams during the billing cycles in any analysis or quick resolution of production issues and break fixes to ensure we meet the SLAs.

    What you bring

  • You will be a passionate advocate of agile methodologies and have a clear understanding of your responsibilities as a Product Owner
  • You will be comfortable managing financial risk, owning escalations and tenacious in issue resolution
  • You will need at least 3+ years of experience working in a Billing application
  • You will need a strong SQL and Store procedure skills to make analytical, data driven recommendations and solutions.
  • Strong Knowledge on relational databases - DB2
  • Experience working on Mainframe – added advantage
  • You will function as effectively as part of a team as you do independently on your own projects
  • You will have strong negotiation, consensus building, analytical and communication skills
  • You will have existing knowledge, or be prepared to invest in your self-development to learn about the Financial Services and Fintech industries as well as FIS’ products and solutions
  • You will have experience of delivering change for some of the world’s largest businesses and will understand the value they need from Worldpay as a service provider
  • A bachelor’s in business or marketing or the equivalent experience.
