Job Description
About the Opportunity
As the Advisor Sector Development, you are responsible for strengthening and expanding the for-purpose sector by developing networks, resources and collaborative initiatives. You will focus on capacity building, knowledge sharing, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance the growth, sustainability, and impact of the field.
Reporting to the Head of Sector Development and Innovation you will apply your strong skills in relationship-building and influence across a diverse range of stakeholders to raise awareness of key issues and opportunities. You will work with policymakers, funders, and institutions to advocate for sector growth and develop reports, white papers, and case studies to document and share best practices.
Qualifications
Your day to day will include:
- Supporting the implementation of field-building initiatives, including convenings, resource development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintaining and expanding networks with key partners.
- Conducting research and synthesising insights on trends, gaps and opportunities within the for-purpose sector.
- Supporting the development of reports, case studies and policy briefs to share best practices and advocate for sector growth.
- Assisting with coordination of events such as roundtables, conferences, and workshops.
- Tracking of relevant policy developments and contributing to internal briefings on their implications for the sector.
- Gathering feedback from stakeholders to refine strategies and measure the impact of field building efforts.
About You
Previous experience in funding and grant management, as well as knowledge of policy and regulatory frameworks related to the field, are crucial to your success.
In addition, you will hold:
- A Bachelor or Masters Degree in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Business OR at least 5 years work experience in a for purpose or advocacy setting.
- Previous experience in government relations and engagement.
- Previous experience developing and implementing effective strategies that drive systemic change.
- Experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders including policymakers, NGOs, academics and the private sector.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to synthesise information into concise and insightful communications for varying audiences.
