The Advisor, Information Technology (Sr Project Manager) oversees the planning, implementation and tracking of technology projects aligned with the organization’s business strategy. Position will be working hybrid based in San Juan, PR.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with areas and management.
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which project will be evaluated at its completion solutions.
- Keep the organization informed about status of the projects in development.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure that detailed designs meet the needs of business and non-functional requirements.
- Evaluates risks and takes proactive action to avoid or mitigate them.
- Ensure that the requirements are within the policy established by the bank and that it complies with the established methodology and with requirements of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
- Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
- Understanding the functional and technical architecture solutions and applications to support the users.
- Work together with other members of the technology department to determine the technical requirements and design and implement cost-effective solutions that are aligned with the technology strategies of the organization.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial engineering, Computer Science or related field required.
- Five (5) years of experience in Project Management required; experience in the banking / financial services industry preferred.
- Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Able to work several important projects simultaneously observing the defined quality standards.
- SCRUM Master Certification required. PMP Certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with internal clients, vendors, and IT staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish & English required.
- Ability to convey and communicate business requirements and technical needs in clear, concise, and effective manner.
- Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and Leadership.
