TEAM

Core ADAS Advanced UX team works on Lv2 to Lv4 automated driving technologies, including Lv2 advanced driver assistance interaction design (driving and parking assistance), UX design for Lv4 automated driving mobility, and UX research for these products. Our team includes project managers, interaction designers, UI designers, 3D designers, 3D engineers, and UX researchers. Our mission is to make the cockpit experience safer and more comfortable, including not only the digital screens in the cockpit, such as IC and IVI screen, but also the driver experience outside of the screens, such as sound, haptics, and illumination. We value teamwork, transparency , and open-minded communication as we collaborate daily with colleagues and partners from multiple regions and backgrounds.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will help design advanced driver-assistance systems for the vehicle cockpit. Our mission is to make the cockpit experience safer and more comfortable, including not only the digital screens in the cockpit, such as IC and IVI screen, but also the driver experience outside of the screens, such as sound, haptics, and illumination. This is an exciting position where you will work with UX researchers, drive simulator engineers, and Toyota Motor Corporation team members from planning to mass production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a comprehensive ADAS cockpit experience concept including digital screens such as IC and IVI, illumination, sound, and haptics, visualizing the cockpit experience through the creation of user journeys, user interaction flows, and other documents.
  • Present designs to partners using wireframes and UI designs for IC and IVI.
  • Develop prototypes for user testing in collaboration with UX researchers
  • Manage external design firms, taking ownership for output quality
  • Lead meetings, workshops, and design reviews, and collaborate with Toyota engineers and other partners
  • Come to the office 3 days per week per our hybrid work policy and report to the manager in charge of Advanced ADAS UX development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of automotive digital cockpit UX design experience
  • Experience bringing designed products to mass production and market
  • Experience leading digital cockpit projects, and presenting in front of different team members
  • Experience to coordinate requirements from multiple partners and facilitate discussions to reach consensus
  • Business level English proficiency (TOEIC score of 860 or above)
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC, Figma, and G suites

NICE TO HAVES

  • Bilingual Japanese-English (JLPT N2 level or higher)
  • Regular drivers license
  • Protopie Skills
  • Experience with 3D tools such as Unity and Blender
