We are looking for a seasoned professional with experience in a complex operating environment to take on a role of Senior Engineer for the CommBank Group. You will be joining a team about to embark on an extensive modernisation agenda and your skills and expertise will be at the forefront of its delivery.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing day to day operational support as well as input into the delivery of the team’s strategic initiatives in the EntraID / Active Directory space.

Take the lead in low to moderate complexity work projects, including estimation, design, installation, configuration, integration and productionising of information technology system components.

Prioritise rapid, automated and safe deployment of technical solutions.

Take accountability for the assimilation of platforms into their ecosystems, concentrating on all aspects of the stack including hardware and networking, data handling and the flow through to application and integration points.

Focus on non-functional aspects such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability and usability. Ensure that platforms meet service level objectives in addition to business requirements.

Apply and promote industry best practices and patterns, as well as application non-negotiables.

Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team and platform.

Lead support and technical troubleshooting responsibilities for production systems.

Drive continuous improvement for the system and team processes.
Tech skills
-
Solid knowledge of Active Directory, EntraID, Modern Authentication and Authorisation protocols. A good understanding of general IAM principles and the Microsoft Identity ecosystem.

Scripting/Powershell skills. The ability to write code to simplify processes, solve issues and identify problems.

Knowledge and experience of modern infrastructure build and deployment mechanisms.

Experience working with Infrastructure as Code using tools

Knowledge of CI/CD and automation tools like Github, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, CI/CD pipeline desirable.
