REPORTS TO: Quality Manger
SUPERVISES: Accuracy Control Inspectors.
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining accuracy control programs in an effort to achieve the company goal of neat construction.
- Oversees the creation and preservation of an environment within the company that foster the highest level of commitment to continuous improvement in product quality and problem prevention.
- Oversees the planning and directing of activities related to the accuracy of shipbuilding
- Oversees the monitoring and verification of the as built dimensional quality during fabrication, assembly and ship stages of construction.
- Oversees measurement surveys using photogrammetry, total station, laser trackers or other electronic 3-D instruments to support product compliance and process capability studies.
- This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
- In order to be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 5 years experience with industrial measurement and surveying, with 5 year experience in fabrication of steel or aluminum structures in a shipbuilding environment.
- Candidate must be willing to work outside of regular scheduled working hours.
- High level mathematical skills including algebra and trigonometry.
- High level PC skills including good to excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access or a statistical package.
- Drafting and computer-aided design experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and organization skills.

DISCRETION EXERCISED: Full discretionary authority to correct and discipline, recommend pay increase, transfers, promotions, discharges, and process grievances.
