To support us in this immediate growth, we are looking to hire an Accounting Technician to join our team in our downtown Montreal office to perform a variety of accounting related tasks.
What You'll Be Doing
- Month-End Close Assistance:
- o Assist in preparing account reconciliations for month-end close, including amortization of prepaid expenses and capital assets, bank reconciliations, and deposit verifications.
- Invoice Processing:
- o Process supplier invoices efficiently, ensuring accuracy in entry and alignment with procurement policies.
- Receipts and Payments:
- o Record all company receipts and payments, maintaining up-to-date transaction records and ensuring all financial activities are accurately captured.
- Expense Reporting:
- o Journalize credit card and employee expense reports, verifying expenses are authorized and correctly categorized.
- Ledger Maintenance:
- o Prepare and review ledger balances and other account statements monthly and annually, ensuring they reflect accurate financial positions.
- Financial Reporting and Support:
- o Provide support in generating detailed financial reports and statements for internal and external use.
- o Assist in analyzing financial data and contribute to financial audits as required.
Key Certifications and Experience Include
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial standards.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
