We currently have an opportunity in our Bucharest offices for an Accounting Specialist. This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, and various other tasks supporting the Varian services organization.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for journal entries, month-end close activity and reconciliations.
- Provide accounting-related guidance and support to other departments.
- Work with other finance and accounting teams across the EU and globally.
- Gather data for and provide support to prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
- Compile information for periodic financial disclosures and ad hoc reports.
- Assist in the setup and improvement of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy.
- Provide support for system implementations, integration activities and new initiatives. Perform system/process testing as requested.
- Assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy.
- Be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and other accounting regulations.
- Monitoring of AP and travel expenses payments
- Fleet management.
- Provide support for external and internal audits.
- Document control and archive.
- Contact with public administrations.
- Resolution of possible incidents.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Inventory management.
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting, Administration or Economics with minimum 2 years of related experience.
- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software.
- As member of a small team, be a self-starter and can work independently with a high level of autonomy, but also comfortable collaborating with other team members and departments.
- Fluent in English and Romanian languages.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
