Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager who will oversee both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), managing a team of 7 and ensuring smooth day-to-day transactions. This role requires close collaboration with the global finance team, especially the German headquarters, to align financial processes and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in AP and AR, with a strong understanding of SAP and year-end audits. The role also involves managing complex accounts and ensuring confidentiality in all transactions. Experience with GAAP is essential, and proficiency in German is a strong plus due to the ongoing partnership with the parent company. Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Oversee invoice processing, payments, and vendor management. Ensure accurate payment approvals, resolve discrepancies, and manage month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating payment terms and addressing issues as they arise.
- Accounts Receivable: Supervise invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and manage collections.
- Lead, support, and develop the AP & AR teams, ensuring strong performance, training, and career growth.
- Work closely with internal departments, including Sales, Customer Service, and Controlling, to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and the resolution of issues. Maintain effective communication across departments to align on financial goals and improve processes.
- Act as the primary liaison with the German Controlling team. Ensure timely and accurate communication on AP & AR matters, resolve discrepancies, and align on financial processes and reporting.
- Prepare AP & AR reports, analyze trends, and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and audit requirements. Support internal and external audits.
- German language skills a strong plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years in accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing AP and AR; experience working in an international environment is a strong plus
- Proficiency in GAAP accounting standards is required, with knowledge of IFRS considered a plus
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of S4 HANA a plus.
- Knowledge of international payment processing, FX transactions, and SOX compliance preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a focus on collaboration across teams and cultures
