Your Role:

Working closely with the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Accounting Lead will be responsible for assisting with the accounting for financial close activities, account reconciliations as well as assisting with other projects as required. The ideal candidate understands and works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives.

This role will be required to work onsite 2 days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), or more depending on business needs. #LI-Hybrid

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the monthly and quarterly close process to maintain accurate books and records to help close in a timely manner, owning complex areas, coordinating with stakeholders, resolving routine roadblocks and updating models.  
  • Review financial statements and report on changes and trends, perform balance sheet account reconciliations and research any discrepancies. Maintain effective processes and compliance with SOX controls. Work with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and year end audit, gathering support and responding to basic inquiries. 
  • Work with external tax accountants for timely filing of all tax deliverables and proactively coordinate follow up to ensure timelines are met. 
  • Assist in enhancing the financial reporting process by developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Contribute to solutioning complex issues and work independently to implement process updates for continuous improvements. 
  • Work closely with management and cross functional teams to execute on the major projects for the department. 
  • Provide support to junior team members in performing day to day duties and resolving minor challenges. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all deliverables. 
  • Lead or participate in special projects, as needed 
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Role Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience 
  • Life Science industry experience preferred 
  • Experience in Sarbanes-Oxley with a strong understanding of US GAAP 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel and Word 
  • SAP S/4 HANA and/or Blackline experience preferred 
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors effectively and clearly in a remote hybrid work environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is $94,500.00 - $123,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
