Artisan Partners is seeking a driven Accounting Intern to join our Vehicle Administration team. The internship offers the opportunity to get firsthand exposure to the inner workings of a global investment management firm and will include a broad range of experiences including: assisting with oversight of service provider relationships in the areas of accounting, custody, transfer agency, expense management, security pricing and financial reporting responsibilities. We are seeking a candidate with a long-term interest in an accounting career coupled with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to assist with:
- Daily valuation tasks, including validation of security prices and resolution of pricing exceptions resulting from internal tolerance checks
- The review of annual and semi-annual reports for all vehicle types, including tying out financial data to supporting ledgers and resolving inquiries from external auditors
- Oversight of external vendors; primarily fund administrators, fund accounting agents, custodians and pricing agents
- Invoice payment processing for all vehicle types
- Preparation of quarterly board materials
- Miscellaneous projects as needed
Qualifications
The successful candidate is currently pursuing an undergraduate business degree in accounting or finance with demonstrated academic achievement. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Dedication to quality and good work ethic
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Desire to learn the investment management industry
