Barstool Sports is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Finance team for the summer. This role provides hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting operations, helping to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes. This internship runs from May 27 to August 29 and is based 100% in our New York office.
What You'll Do
- Assist in monthly financial close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Help prepare financial statements and reports for internal review.
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in tracking expenses, revenues, and cash flow to support financial planning.
- Work with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Support ad-hoc projects and audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
About you/What You Have
- Active college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience with accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar is a plus, but not required).
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
A passion for media, sports, and digital entertainment is a plus.
Pay Rate: $16/hr
