Department: Finance

The Financial Operations and Accounting Teams at Gemini are thought leaders in the digital asset accounting and finance space. Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in-class financial institution experience.

The Role: Accounting Intern

Throughout your time with the organization, you will have the opportunity to take on strategic projects, work with finance leaders and pave the way for business transformation. Gemini’s culture is thoughtfully orchestrated to provide you with strategic projects, exposure to company leadership, and work that will directly impact the business. While each internship is unique, all roles offer the opportunity to work collaboratively, build business partnerships and develop a diverse set of skills and leadership competencies.

This will be a 10-week internship program this summer starting the second week of June. High-performing interns are considered for full time positions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end accounting close, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Learn and become proficient at using our accounting software for general ledger reporting.
• Work on discrete projects to drive efficiencies in our accounting close processes.
• Support internal and external audit work by gathering appropriate supporting documentation.
• Participate in financial analysis projects and other ad-hoc reporting.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting (on track to graduate by June 2026).
• 1-2 years of professional experience preferred. 
• Understanding of fundamental accounting standards and working knowledge of journal entry preparation, data analytics, financial statements analysis, and reporting.  
• Ability to work in teams, collaborate with multiple business partners and build strong, influential relationships. 
• Capable of taking initiative and thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.  
• Demonstrates a growth mindset and passion for continuous learning and growth .

Pay Rate: The hourly pay rate for this role is $34/hour in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees within the New York and Seattle metropolitan areas are expected to work from the designated office twice a week, unless there is a job-specific requirement to be in the office every workday. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.
