We are expanding our accounting team and are looking to add an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounting Intern (4 month Contract) who excels in customer service and has a passion for assisting clients.
About the role
Are you looking to gain real-world accounting experience in a supportive and fast-paced environment? As an Accounting Intern (4 month Contract), you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes while learning from a collaborative, experienced team. From helping with account reconciliations and billing tasks to assisting with client inquiries and resolving discrepancies, your contributions will support both our clients and our internal operations.
This internship is a great fit if you're detail-oriented, eager to learn, and enjoy problem-solving with professionalism. You’ll gain valuable exposure to accounting software, financial procedures, and client service practices that will set you up for future success.
There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Payment Reconciliation: Posting customer payments to general ledgers and reconciling accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Bank Reconciliation: Posting and reconciling all entries from the bank to the general ledger and reconciling accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Customer Account Management: Setting up and maintaining customer accounts and files to ensure accurate billing and payment tracking.
- Billing Review: Diligently reviewing system-generated billing for errors to prevent discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Invoice Preparation: Preparing and issuing invoices and credit memos on an ongoing basis, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Client Support: Providing exceptional support and information to clients via email or phone, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
- Discrepancy Investigation: Investigating and resolving any billing discrepancies or issues, working closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction.
- Cross-functional Support: Assisting the Accounting department with other duties as required, contributing to the team's overall success.

- Quick Learner: Ability to learn new software programs and applications quickly.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving abilities, strong math skills, and a keen eye for detail to navigate and resolve issues efficiently. Basically, you are a digger, and like getting to the bottom of things!
- Computer Savvy: We are a software company, after all. We need someone with strong skills using new and familiar technologies. Doesn't hurt if you are an Excel wizard either.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, with a process and procedure-oriented approach to work.
- Excellent Communication: Great communicator, both in writing and verbally, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Team Player: Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders and working collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
- Initiative and Commitment: Committed to meeting deadlines, showing initiative, and contributing positively to the team.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Eagerness to learn and develop skills in full-cycle accounting, with some foundational knowledge from coursework or related experience.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel. In fact, strong overall tech savviness.
