You will develop and implement accounting practices and procedures. You will provide and interpret data from accounting records and coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. In this role, you will oversee the management of such processes as intercompany cross charges, new accounting rules, among others.
How you will contribute
You will:
- Manage elements of the monthly accounting close process including ensuring accurate and timely U.S. GAAP/local GAAP reporting and the timeliness and integrity of local financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations and KPIs. You will also provide insights into balance sheet movements and cash flow and support implementation of process change projects
- Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our AER policies
- Coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. You will also provide and interpret data from accounting records as needed
- Lead projects to drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working on AER processes and systems such as SAP, SLAN and FIT/HFM reporting tools and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the team. You will also lead implementation efforts on new accounting guidance

- TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS or local GAAP, close processes and financial reporting systems. Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. General knowledge of indirect tax.
- BUSINESS ACUMEN and an understanding of our business and finance beyond accounting and external reporting scope
- LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills. Experience of working as a finance leader managing cross-functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results
- GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

How you will contribute
You will:
- Work independently on financial close activities such as balance sheet review, payable/receivable accruals, and follow up with wide range of stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Lead Goods Received/Invoice Received workstream.
- Independently work on assigned projects
- Review work product of Mondelēz International Business Services team members, maintain high quality of deliverables on time.
- Lead assigned income tax requests, including complex data analysis.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of comparable experience in Controllership in multi-currency environment.
- Canadian or US CPA required. Candidates working towards CPA certification in their last year of the program will be considered.
- Proven hands-on experience in SAP is required, with other large ERP systems' experience will be considered.
- Proven hands-on expert experience in Excel required, including advanced functions and large data analysis.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting duties such as review journal entries, review reconciliations, month, quarter, and year-end reporting, regular finance survey reporting, etc.
- Support GRIR escalation approval process activities.
- Review aging intercompany goods in transit balances and provide support to MBS partners where needed to resolve open items.
- Support various audit requirements.
- Support 3rd party royalty accounting and reporting for North America region inbound & outbound. Review reports/calculations/journal entrees and be a trusted advisor to Licensing team.
- Support intercompany royalties accounting and reporting for North America region - review reports/calculations/journal entrees and engage cross functionally with subject matter experts.
- Support compilation of workbooks, schedules for Tax purposes (ITQ, IDR, SWP) and review/approve before final submission.
- Act as subject matter expert, drive strong governance, controls and continuous improvement.
- Work independently on global/regional projects and ad-hoc requests from line Manager as applicable.
