The Opportunity
For our International Finance Division we are currently looking for an Accountant to join our great team in Serbia. This will be an office-based position requiring daily presence in our office in Belgrade.
This role will comply with related company’s policies, SOPs and procedures to meet statutory, quality and business requirements within the overall strategy and objectives of Abbott Serbia.
What You'll do:
- Processing and accounting of invoices, payments, expense reports and petty cash transaction in accordance with affiliate/Abbott policies and procedures and local regulations.
- Prepare monthly/annual accounting close and periodical statistical reports.
- Process and book ICBs and intercompany fees.
- Prepare and control accruals on monthly / annual base.
- Reconcile inventory and fixed assets accounts.
- VAT monthly calculation submission and bookkeeping.
- Book ingoing and outgoing invoices.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
- Monthly reconcile Balance sheet accounts.
- Monthly preparing and calculation income in kind report.
- Prepare tax returns and statistics reports and submit as required for local authorities.
- Control and correct employees expense reports.
- Enter and reconcile bank statements with accounting information on monthly basis.
- Backup responsibilities for setting up and managing the execution of all payments through the electronic banking system following up as required on required management approvals.
- Maintain the schedules with the data for various tax and contribution calculations in accordance with law requirements (for example: income tax, health contribution etc.).
- Prepare internal reports in accordance with Abbott policies and requirements.
Required qualifications & background:
- University degree in accountancy or in economics.
- Strong Computer skills – Excel, Word.
- High-level of accuracy.
- High level of local Serbian language and local legislation knowledge.
- Good level of English (both written and spoken).
- Minimum 2 year experience in similar position in multinational company.
- Chartered Accountant Diploma - would be a strong asset.
- Computer skills – iScala, SAP - would be a strong asset.
- Service orientation.
- Excellent listening and communication abilities.
- Accuracy and punctuality in work with numbers.
- Ability to perform in stress situations.
- Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
