Job Description

The Accountant is a team player who possesses a positive attitude and is self-motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, organized, analytical and resourceful. The Accountant needs to be comfortable working in a changing environment and be able to challenge and improve the status quo.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to month end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial data is in compliance with GAAP.
  • Review monthly financial statements of multiple entities to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Research variances in key account balances and explain variances between actuals and budget.
  • Assist with shared service accounting functions including general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, intercompany, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, etc..
  • Ensure compliance with established company policies and procedures and incorporate procedural improvements to optimize efficiency.
  • Create ad-hoc financial reports and data analysis as required to support business objectives.
  • Assist with annual financial and internal control audits.
  • Provide on-going support to various business partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with minimum of 2-3 years of applicable experience.
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks for business
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • CPA candidate highly preferred.
  • Public accounting audit experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing accounting environment preferred.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of a 40-hour work week with additional time as required.
  • Some travel required
