Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Broker Reconciliation and Trades Matching Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate reconciliation of broker statements, the timely matching of trades, and resolution of discrepancies. Your contributions will be vital to maintaining operational efficiency, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Matching & Reconciliation:
- Match and confirm trades with counterparties, brokers, and custodians.
- Perform daily reconciliation of broker statements and internal records to ensure accurate trade settlement.
- Discrepancy Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve trade breaks and discrepancies between internal systems and external broker reports.
- Communicate with brokers and internal teams to resolve trade settlement issues promptly.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyse trade data to identify patterns or recurring issues.
- Prepare and maintain reconciliation reports for management and audit purposes.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflows and minimize trade discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reconciliation processes through automation or improved methodologies.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies related to trade settlements and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and auditable records for compliance and risk purposes.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- [2-5+] years of experience in trade reconciliation, settlements, or similar roles in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reconciliation tools, trade matching systems, and financial software (e.g., Bloomberg, SWIFT, Alteryx or similar platforms).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Competencies:
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
- Team player with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
