Staff Accountant, Development Accounting

The Staff Accountant, Development Accounting will be responsible for supporting the Development Team with the accounting oversight of all development-related reporting, data management, and project monitoring. This position will be exposed to all facets of Industrial Real Estate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews trial balance/general ledgers monthly including proper review of development assets, liabilities, property expenses and rental income

• Prepares and records journal entries as needed and maintains monthly workpapers to facilitate the timely completion of the monthly close process

• Sets up appropriate jobs and contracts for development and lease transaction costs

• Collects, vest and stores contract supporting documentation required for Yardi contract setup

• Prepares development invoices for payment and ensures audit-required documentation is attached

• Interfaces with vendors and third-party managers regarding all matters related to the processing of development invoices

• Processes equity draws and obtains/attaches in Yardi all necessary information for payment

• Prepares development and land project draws and attends monthly draw meetings

• Assists in obtaining lender-specific information from vendors or development management team to ensure timely loan draw process

• Ensures timely billing of tenant improvement work to tenants and posting in Yardi

• Coordinates receipt of payment with release of funds to vendor

• Maintains development data in development database and assist in monthly development reporting

• Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance

• 1-2 years experience in the construction or real estate industry preferred

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; familiarity with Yardi also a plus

• Ability to work in a collaborative and term oriented environment

• Detail-oriented

• Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment
