Strategic Risk Solutions Inc (SRS), a fast-growing privately-owned insurance services company, is looking for an Account Manager to provide superb finance support to colleagues in Barbados.
SRS provides consulting, accounting, and management services to insurance companies, predominantly those licensed as captive insurance companies, in the US, Canada, Barbados, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Europe with a staff of 420+ employees and expects to continue to grow and expand domestically and abroad.
Duties include:
For a portfolio of (re)insurance companies:

Working with the client account team leader delivering high quality financial and regulatory reports.

Tracking and reconciliation of cash and other financial transactions.

Assisting with treasury account management of the client’s cash and investment balances.
-
Maintaining and facilitating accounting records and work papers.
-
Preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries and financial statements for clients.
-
Finalizing the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the appropriate GAAP.

Approving billings and payment instructions in accordance with the approved company mandates.
-
Preparation and filing of quarterly returns at the Financial Services Commission.
-
Co-ordination of the audit queries on behalf of clients.

Handling of verbal and written client communications (where applicable).

Timely storage of documentation on SRS platform and the individual client Extranet.

Preparing for client Board of Director meetings.
-
Attending and presenting at client Board of Director meetings.

Any other financial related task that may be required from time to time.
Attributes and skill sets include:

Professional Accounting Designation.
-
More than three (3) years’ financial accounting experience.

Comprehensive and up-to-date technical knowledge and practical experience of insurance accounting.

Ability to produce a work product that is consistent with best practice.

Self-motivation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on individually assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment where superior time management and prioritization skills are essential.

Detail-oriented with superb organizational skills and comfortable with routinely shifting demands;

Must be a self-starter and driven;

Strong verbal and written communication skills;

Ability to build lasting relationships with all levels of employees; and

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
