Position Description
The Retirement/Defined Contribution Distribution business within PIMCO is responsible for developing, servicing, and growing assets under management within the U.S. retirement market. We are seeking an Account Manager, Defined Contribution – Key Accounts with established client and consultant relationships, and strong industry contacts. In this role, you will provide investment coverage for the platform distribution, product, and research teams. Additionally, you will support both institutional and the retirement sales team client-facing professionals to strengthen relationships with key accounts and expand our footprint with DC Platform relationships.
General responsibilities include developing and executing business plans to increase shelf space for PIMCO strategies on key DC platforms, engaging with platform distribution leaders to position PIMCO strategies, and providing expertise on market trends, plan design, and solutions. Additionally, this role supports the development of marketing and servicing materials to retain and grow assets.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collaborate with and receive input from client facing teams (both Institutional and Retirement Sales) to develop and implement business plans aimed at increasing shelf space for PIMCO strategies on key DC platforms, aligning with client demand to drive revenue growth.

Engage with platform distribution business leaders to understand and achieve strategic growth goals, positioning PIMCO’s off-the-self and custom strategies for participation.

Support platform client service and research teams in reviewing PIMCO strategies used in DC plans, ensuring they maintain good standing on distribution platforms.

Provide expertise on DC landscape, including market trends, plan design, and solutions. Communicate themes that align supportive of PIMCO thought leadership and position new solutions.

Offer field support to DC Service Provider wholesalers and client service representatives.

Coordinate with PIMCO colleagues to close new business opportunities.

Identify market opportunities and contribute to the development of new products and strategies.

Assist in creating DC-specific marketing and servicing materials to support asset retention and growth.

Develop comprehensive knowledge of PIMCO’s products, platforms, themes, initiatives, markets, strategies, and policies of our clients and partner firms.

Ensure the highest level of compliance with all industry standards, client firm requirements, and PIMCO policies, including adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

Comply with all travel and expense reimbursement and activity reporting in a timely manner.

Position Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an external client-facing sales or business development role in the DC space, with a strong network established industry contacts and established client and consultant relationships.

Possession of FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses is required. Series 3 must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment.

In-depth knowledge of the institutional and advisor-led DC landscape, including investor requirements and preferences related to DC plans.

Extensive understanding of DC intermediary distribution.

Strong knowledge of DC trends, plan design, competitors, capital markets, and economic factors.

Proven entrepreneurial mindset with a strong commitment to client service and excellence, capable of developing and deepening client relationships.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 205,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
