Role: Account Executive
Location: California, United States
As an Account Executive at Boku, you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and managing accounts through the sales lifecycle. You will be the front line of our sales efforts, helping to expand Boku’s market share in the digital payments space. You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to understand client needs, pitch solutions, and ultimately drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Identify and manage a sales pipeline from the “Next 150” list that projects 3x quota target and a sales forecast that projects 2x quota target
- Sales Cycle Management: Lead the entire sales process from initial lead generation to closing deals. Create and execute sales strategies that align with Boku’s business objectives. Fully understand and quantify merchant challenges with respect to growth, expansion and execution in both local and overseas markets. Perform gap analysis. Enlist Boku SMEs to ideate, craft and deploy solutions to merchant problems.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients. Understand client needs and act as the main point of contact for all sales-related inquiries.
- Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Conduct compelling product demos and presentations tailored to prospective clients, showcasing the value of Boku’s payment solutions.
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead contract negotiations and ensure that deals are closed in a timely manner while maintaining profitability and compliance with company policies.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities. Provide feedback to internal teams regarding customer needs, pain points, and market dynamics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Operations, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure successful onboarding and long-term satisfaction for new clients.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and pipeline forecasts in the CRM system (e.g., Salesforce). Provide regular updates on sales progress and performance against targets.

- Sales Strategy & Execution – Strong ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies aligned with Boku’s business objectives.
- Negotiation & Deal Closing – Expertise in contract negotiations and structuring deals that benefit both Boku and the client.
- Payments Industry Knowledge – Understanding of digital payments, alternative payment methods, and global transaction ecosystems.
- Client-Centric Approach – Ability to understand merchant needs, conduct gap analyses, and craft tailored solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication – Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams (Product, Sales Ops, CSM) and effectively present solutions to external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Sales Experience – Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the payments, fintech, or SaaS industries.
- CRM Proficiency – Hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for pipeline management and forecasting.
- Negotiation & Contracting Expertise – Strong ability to negotiate and close complex deals with enterprise-level clients.
- Payments & Fintech Knowledge – Understanding of global payments, alternative payment methods, and cross-border transactions.
