With business value at the forefront, the US Corporate Reputation team creates compelling narratives that capture a company’s vision, culture, and direction. The team advises corporate clients on what to say and do, and works to align a company with its stakeholders, connecting with a variety of audiences through the most effective means – media relations, business-to-business communications, executive positioning, employee engagement, financial communications, or any combination necessary to support business value objectives.
Our team has an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive to play a key role on our team, get the opportunity to work on some of the world’s largest and well-known brands, and have direct contact with clients, partners, and other practice groups across the country and globally. This opportunity is perfect for a smart, self-starting PR practitioner with at least one year of full-time post-graduate experience and a passion for media relations and corporate communications.
While there is no “typical day” at Edelman, you will:
- Provide client service support: attend meetings, meet deadlines, troubleshoot problems, draft recaps
- Write, edit and proofread materials ensuring quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles
- Develop and maintain media contact lists and pitch stories to targeted media to raise client profiles and shape public and investor perceptions
- Plan and facilitate client events and recognition programs
- Support executive positioning strategies and thought leadership initiatives
- Produce industry research
- Provide daily account support to team leads and manage projects, including tracking financial details
- Demonstrate general knowledge of social media
- Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching, and providing feedback
Basic Qualifications:
- At least one year of full-time experience in public relations
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public relations, corporate communications, English, advertising, journalism, business) or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Open to working with a variety of clients ie. manufacturing, financial services, professional services, CPG, nonprofit
- Possess solid research, writing, and editing skills
- Have the ability to create relationships with traditional media
- Have a solid grasp of basic public relations and social media tools and how they are used
- Have hands-on experience in content and message development, thought leadership, and event management

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
