Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Academic Advisor I – Boca Raton, FL.

The College of Science Student Advising Services Office is responsible for providing general advising services.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Perform advising functions within the Student Services Office.

  • Assist with student registration, retention and progress toward graduation.

  • Assist with other student support service duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Two years of experience in advising, counseling, orientation, student services, or science related field in higher education.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
Specialization in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs.
Experience with student database software and degree audit software, prior use of Banner/DARS.
Web design skills and familiarity with social media.

Salary:

$48,000 - $50,600 per year.
