2D Technical Artist - Choices

We are looking for a 2D Technical Artist to join our team and lead the charge in revolutionizing artist workflows and pipelines. Your expertise in 2D technical art, AI tools (like ComfyUI), and game production processes will drive the creation of cutting-edge pipelines that create game content at unparalleled speed and quality. This role is as much about designing efficient workflows as it is about redefining how game art is made.

You will collaborate closely with our art and technology teams to streamline processes, integrate AI-powered tools, and establish new standards for creative efficiency and output quality for our game Choices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, optimization, and implementation of 2D art production workflows, using AI-driven tools like ComfyUI.

• Collaborate with artists and developers to reimagine and streamline pipelines, focusing on speed and quality.

• Experiment with and implement new AI technologies to enhance art production processes.

• Collaborate with writers and artists to generate high quality in game assets including characters, backgrounds, outfits, hairstyles, expressions, book covers, and other marketing materials as needed.

• Create documentation and provide training for teams on using new tools and workflows.

• Ensure seamless integration of assets into game engines and live titles.

• Monitor and optimize performance of pipelines, solving technical challenges proactively.

• Support the team with technical troubleshooting, ensuring smooth production cycles.

Requirements

• Expertise in 2D technical art and workflows, with a proven ability to design and optimize production pipelines.

• Strong 2D portfolio that showcases understanding of anatomy, lighting, and composition.

• Knowledge of AI-driven tools and workflows, particularly ComfyUI, A1111, or similar.

• 5+ years of experience in the gaming industry with a strong technical focus.

• Proficiency in game engine pipelines and tools, and familiarity with scripting or automation.

• Passionate about AI and its potential to revolutionize game development processes.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to innovation.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.

Pluses

• Experience building systems for 2D character animation or UI integration.

• Broad technical expertise in VFX, shaders, or other game art areas.

• Experience working on live titles with rapid production cycles.

• A track record of designing tools or workflows that have been adopted across teams.
