Your Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for John Deere in Milan, IL, you will develop existing applications and contribute to development of new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. In addition, you will:

  • Develop new routine applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor, identify, and correct more complex software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
  • Research and interpret data, trends, and benchmarks relevant to digital products/services design.
  • Design and oversee the functionality, usability, and accessibility of business-critical portals/websites using content creation and management tools as well as digital media to ensure that technical continuity is maintained, and development standards are met.
  • Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users needs.
  • Maintain a roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
  • Provide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
  • Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.
  • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Up to 20% domestic travel required


What Skills You Need

  • 1 year of experience in React for dynamic UI development, HTML5 and CSS3 for creating modern, accessible web layouts, Bootstrap for rapid, responsive design, and JavaScript for adding interactivity and fixing defects, directly aligning with the job's focus on developing, improving, and maintaining robust web applications and portals
  • 1 year of experience in microservices architectural design and development for modularity enabling the development of independent, scalable services and enhancing system reliability
  • 1 year of experience in DBMS, SQL and Database Query Optimization, Database Design and Modeling, Application Integration to enhance application efficiency and ensure software meets user needs and experience leveraging ORM tool- Hibernate in application integration to boost the development and maintenance of high-quality digital solutions, aligning with strategic business objectives and swiftly addressing complex software issues
  • 1 year of proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming Language Java/J2EE to create robust and scalable applications, ensuring both new and existing software meets evolving user needs
  • 1 year of proficiency in GIT and CI/CD streamlines software development, testing, and deployment, ensuring applications meet user expectations efficiently


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 1 year related experience.
