Department Summary
Our System Development team is committed to evaluating and integrating systems for sequencing-related in-vitro diagnostic applications. We are a diverse group of agile engineers and scientists, deeply passionate about delivering high-quality solutions to our customers. Our work is at the intersection of hardware, software, assays, and clinical data.
This internship position is located in Santa Clara, on site.
Department Summary:
As an intern at Roche Diagnostics, you will work alongside a team of passionate professionals, gaining exposure to a range of projects in the diagnostics space. This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Whether you're interested in research and development, Roche offers a wide array of opportunities to grow and learn.
The Opportunity:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects in diagnostics research, product development, or manufacturing.

Assist in the preparation of scientific reports, presentations, and other technical documentation.

Participate in product testing, data collection, and analysis to support continuous improvement efforts.

Provide administrative support, including preparing meeting materials and tracking project timelines.

Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
Program Highlights

Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are (Required):
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree.

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

Must have attained a Master's Degree.
Required Majors: Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, System engineering, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or similar
Required Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills and fast learner
- Familiarity with instrumentation and wet bench laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with statistical software is a bonus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to learning and development.
- Familiarity with Research or IVD applications using NGS based technology is a plus.
- Self-motivated and quicker learner.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in California is $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
