Technical Service and Development Specialist, Packaging and Specialty Plastics
Summary
This TS&D specialist will play a key technical role in supporting the growth of the business under Packaging and Specialty Plastics of the Dow Chemical Company in different countries of SEA. The role is to be part of Dow’s cutting-edge technology development and resolve current and future scientific difficulties in material science.
Key responsibilities
1. Provide technical solutions
- Focus on client-side application development and technical support.
- Propose solutions to resolve internal and external technical issues related to the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business.
- Identify gaps of existing products and technology, help develop new products by working closely with R&D experts.
2. Interface with Customers
- Cultivate and maintain customer intimacy by interacting with customers on a regular basis. Work closely with sales counterparts to develop and solidify relationships with customers.
- Responsibilities include: visit customers, provide technical consultation and troubleshooting advice, coordinate test samples and results, documentation, technical presentation and lab results analysis.
Experience qualifications
- Master’s degree or above who graduate in 2024 or 2025, Major in Polymer Science and Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
- Proven track record of customer issue resolving and technical troubleshooting.
- Fundamental understanding in the general area of polymer science and engineering, e.g. polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer processing and rheology, polymer characterization etc.
- Research Experience on plastic film or sheet formulation, process and application in packaging materials will be preferred.
- This role requires good English reading, writing and speaking. Chinese and Bahasa capability is a plus.

- Self motivated, proactive and confident. Possesses customer-oriented mentality. Can-do attitude.
- Can drive a project from beginning to the end under proposed time frame. Can set timeline and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Work comfortably in a team setting. Able to motivate and positively influence team members.
- Good writing and presentation skills.
- Travel about 30% of work time.
Dow will assist candidate to apply Singapore Work Pass if required but result subjects to Singapore MoM's review.
