Leading with a growth mindset

“People are our most important asset,” VP of Sales Development Mary Brook Delano said. “We are committed to creating and collaborating with a high-performing, opportunity-driven team.” As Delano supports her team’s development, she finds a growth mindset to be the most valuable tool for her ambitious colleagues. In order to support that growth, Definitive offers a company-wide development program called “Elevate” to especially serve young professionals. Among other initiatives, the program supports Delano’s sales team’s focus on helping SDRs reach their first sales executive role.

Five years ago, Li walked into her manager’s office and told him she was looking to grow into a different role within the company. Together, they identified a path that made sense for her skill set to move out of customer success. Through LEAD, she was able to define a position for herself as part of the business’s sales and service operations team. And then in 2022 moved into a newly created customer marketing team.

Definitive gave me space to execute my ideas and provided support and resources when I needed them.

Diversity and inclusion efforts have always been a part of Definitive Healthcare’s culture. But more recently, they were formalized. Agrawal, who is part of Out@DHC, the organization’s employee resource group for LGBTQIA+ employees, said that they have joined forces with their women empowerment (WE@DHC) and BIPOC@DHC groups to ensure that hiring, development and employee experiences are equitable across the board.
