Welkin Health raises $17.5 million Series B round

Altos Ventures led the round while existing investors, Thrive Capital, Red Swan Ventures, and Asset Management Ventures also participated.

Delivering more personalized patient care is a priority for health care teams everywhere and one of the many challenges that health tech startups are stepping up to solve.

Welkin Health’s approach to patient relationship management software recently netted the company $17.5 million in Series B funding led by Altos Ventures, according to a press release. Existing investors, Thrive Capital, Red Swan Ventures and Asset Management Ventures also contributed to the round.

The company’s customers include medical device companies, payers, providers and disease management service providers. By enabling health care teams to work effectively, the platform aims to improve health outcomes.

“Over the past two years, we’ve transformed how customers use our platform,” says Chase Hensel, CEO and co-founder of Welkin Health, in a press release. “Our APIs and Workshop tool enable customers to launch quickly, to flexibly plug us into their tech stack, and to make changes to their care programs over time. We’re excited to work with Altos to continue our mission of helping health care organizations create meaningful patient relationships at scale.”

Ram Gupta will be the newest addition to Welkin’s board of directors, joining on behalf of Altos Ventures. Gupta’s background spans both SaaS and health care, as he brings more than two decades of experience of working with startups and high-growth companies in executive management and board roles.
