Competitive gamers in Los Angeles have a new option on the block. Global esports company Gen.G this week announced the official opening of an elite training facility in the City of Angels. Seoul-based Gen.G plans to base its US content creators, Call of Duty, Apex Legends and Fortnite teams at this location, in addition to a team of 15 employees. Founded in 2017, the company has offices in Seoul, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Shanghai.
"Gen.G couldn't be more excited about the progress we've made in the US market. We have an amazing group of players on board and they're now in a top-notch setting where they'll continue to sustain a winning culture."
"Establishing our presence globally has been a priority over the last few years — that included the introduction of competitive US-based teams," said Arnold Hur, Chief Operating Officer, Gen.G esports. "Gen.G couldn't be more excited about the progress we've made in the US market. We have an amazing group of players on board and they're now in a top-notch setting where they'll continue to sustain a winning culture."
The 13,000 square-foot facility is located in EA Games' building in Playa Vista, with amenities such as 10gb fiber internet in three scrim rooms, a master film review room and six soundproof streaming rooms. Until recently, Gen.G had been working out of a temporary space in the LA-area.
This new space more closely resembles the company’s seven-story building in Seoul, Korea that opened last November. Gen.G emphasizes work-life balance, offering its athletes luxury apartments within walking distance of the facility, healthy meals available in a large cafeteria throughout the day, all-access to gym memberships and more.
"We feel really great about the state of our organization as we continue to push the industry forward by spearheading initiatives worldwide," said Chris Park, Chief Executive Officer, Gen.G esports, in a statement. "Our fans can expect Gen.G's presence to only grow across the U.S. following the announcement of this breathtaking LA facility."
