We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead the development and scaling of PayZen’s FinTech software solutions in our Tel Aviv office. As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be pivotal in shaping PayZen’s product's future and driving the company’s growth trajectory.
What you will do
- Lead the Tel Aviv engineering team in a microservices environment on Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and success, and directly manage existing management structure
- Collaborate with engineering teams in San Francisco and LATAM to standardize development processes, and drive strong global communications and connection.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle—design, development, testing, and deployment—ensuring high-quality standards and best practices, with a focus on scalable JavaScript solutions (Node.js, React).
- Architect and optimize high-level systems, services, and data models with clear documentation, while improving performance, reliability, and scalability across cross-functional projects.
- Leverage and refine open-source and commercial technologies, including AWS, to enhance operations and drive efficiency.
- Work closely with Product Managers, DevOps, and stakeholders to align engineering efforts with company goals, and drive an engineering culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap in partnership with colleagues in technology leadership to support product growth while reducing tech debt and optimizing costs.
What you will bring

- 6+ years of development experience in JavaScript, specifically with expertise in Node.js and React.
- At least 3 years of experience managing and building high-performing engineering teams, including experience setting up new teams or offices.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent is preferred. MBA is a nice to have.
- Strong experience in microservices architectures and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale technical projects and initiatives.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, databases, and networking concepts.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated success building new processes from scratch and transforming processes, data, systems, and practices in complex, global, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with management.
