About the Role
This role is responsible for Value Management (VM) for regional customer projects and products (SPACEs) inside the SBU Intelligent Cockpit. In this role, you will lead the regional SBU Value Management activities in alignment with CPM, sales, procurement, manufacturing, Engineering and System Design. The main responsibility for the role is to identify these opportunities that results in product cost, feature or function improvements by using the Value Engineering methods, which focus on existing product portfolios (post-award) and new designs (RFQ’s), or improving product margins, while maintaining product integrity and quality.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and drive Value Management workshops on cost-down activities from RFI/RFQ to Post-SOP for EU customers with interdisciplinary project teams
- Projects reviews for mechanical and hardware opportunities
- (analysis of schematics, HW components, PCB, mechanical design)
- Develop and compile new innovative cost down ideas and check technical feasibility
- Analysis of customer specifications described in RFI/RFQs or customer assignments
- Leading and tracking the EU projects from idea creation to implementation
- Interface to project management, engineering, purchasing, controlling, quality and production within SBUs
- Alignment with Controlling Organizations on baseline definition and on savings data
- Cost Estimation of purchased parts
- Reporting of regional VM achievements to VM Engineering Manager
- Continuous technical & commercial benchmark of electronical key components together with HW experts and procurement
- Analyze competitor solutions from the HW and ME perspective for different product groups esp. Infotainment/Connectivity.
- Ensure lessons learnt for reuse of ideas in new programs globally
What You Need
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications) or appropriate graduation
- Min. 8 years experience as Project Manager / Project Lead HW/ME
- General Knowledge about Automotive ECUs, HW components and their application in the overall system
- Experience interfacing with (internal) customers and explain complex technical issues in English
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of the requirements in the automotive industry
- Structured and results-orientated working style
- Ability of team work
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
- Experience as a HW Engineer in the development of analogue and digital circuits and systems would be of advantage.
- Basic or good knowledge of tools for schematic/layout realization and simulation (e.g. Mentor Graphics, SPICE, …) as well as Microsoft applications
- Shows character strength and personal integrity in all situations especially difficult ones.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex issues regardless of audience.
