UX Researcher

Grade 11

Atlanta, GA

NCR is looking for an analytical individual with strong interpersonal skills to answer high-impact product and business questions through research. The role will be working closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and optimize user journeys. The ideal candidate will be naturally curious and motivated to use data to improve user experience.

This individual will: 

  • Operationalize qualitative research insights into actionable, measurable UX goals and ensure accountability to these UX goals across the development lifecycle 

  • Drive impact through a range of research approaches, including internal and external review, qualitative methods (observation, contextual inquiry, interview), usability, experimentation, focus groups, and survey research. 

  • Work closely with other researchers, designers, and product managers to design research plans and specific studies. 

  • Organize and communicate findings to stakeholders in an easily understandable format. 

  • Collaborate with service design and analytics team members to deliver wholistic insights to decision makers. 

  • Work independently executing research, including data collection, data analysis, reporting and knowledge consolidation. 

  • Define studies and coordinate with colleagues to run multiple studies in parallel. 

  • Work effectively with cross-functional partners (e.g., design, hardware & software engineering, product, marketing) to ensure our research accounts for their needs and creates a complete picture of the user experience. 

The ideal candidate has: 

  • Strong intellectual curiosity balanced with humility, drive, and teamwork. 

  • Comfort using a variety of technologies to research data points to discover actionable conclusions. 

  • Experience with a broad range of research methodologies (usability studies, interviews, site visits, surveys, customer segmentation, card sorting, unmoderated studies, etc.). 

  • Ability to quickly and effectively analyze data and present findings clearly to influence product design and direction. 

  • Passion for learning new technologies and understanding the needs of diverse users. 

  • The ability to communicate, track, and drive research insights with stakeholders to ensure positive impact on products in a fast-moving agile environment. 

  • Ability to operate at a speedy pace in research or implementation. 

  • An ability to break large projects into smaller pieces to meet deadlines and ability to convert ideas into testable hypotheses and/or next steps.
