SUMMARY
The purpose of this document is to describe the necessary requirements for the position of Tufting Lead in plant operations. The tufting lead’s main responsibility is to ensure that optimum standard conditions are utilized for tufting processes and that those processes meet all of FieldTurf’s standards for performance.
Weekend Shift: Fri, Sat, Sun 7AM-7PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under limited supervision and much decision-making:
- Motivated & Professional work attitude. Must follow dress code and have superior work ethics.
- Must have the mental ability to advise, calculate, compare, classify, diagnose, direct, estimate, evaluate, inspect, instruct, interpret, measure, monitor, observe, organize, plan, read, recommend, record, select, troubleshoot, and verify.
- Works around and with automated equipment, moving machinery, and computerized systems. This position requires working inside the plant area.
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work in a close team environment, not only with his/her department but also with any other department.
- Basic math skills and judgment skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Pays attention to details.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
- Must have the ability to work either an 8 or 12 hour schedule, plus overtime when necessary. Must have the ability to work any shift and help cover shifts during vacations and call-offs.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Every employee is responsible for the safety of all employees.
- Responsible for IMMEDIATE reporting of any unsafe condition or act.
- Follow all plant safety rules at all times.
- Responsible for housekeeping and organization in all manufacturing area(s). Work area should be kept clean and free of debris at all times. Tasked with driving and improving the plant’s 5S initiatives.
- Use proper bending and lifting techniques to avoid injury.
- Watch for lift truck traffic. Cross lift truck aisles only in marked pedestrian crosswalks.
- Keep all tripping hazards off floor at all times.
- Wear job required PPE at all times.
