The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Canterbury team as the Christchurch Transport Department Manager. In this role, you will ultimately be responsible for effectively managing the safety, quality, efficiency and financial success of the Transport Department.
In addition to the above you will:
- Oversee daily operational activities including resourcing, programming of works, contractual operations and obligations
- Manage financial performance, reporting, ensuring optimisation of financial outcomes
- Effectively manage client relationships ensuring continued success, both internally and externally
- Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in managing a Transport business unit, ensuring high-quality outcomes and efficient use of resources.
- Extensive knowledge of the Transport industry and the role it plays in successful infrastructure delivery.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including management of assets.
- Experience managing and developing teams of significant size to ensure continued success and growth opportunities.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people, safety and quality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with varying levels of stakeholders.
- Problem solving abilities
