Job Description
Do you want to move businesses and societies in a sustainable direction? Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative, and empowering culture while being part of our journey to create a globally leading consultancy within sustainability and strategy? Do you want to support our crucial industries with identifying and implementing green value creation opportunities.
Bring your interest in strategy, sustainability, M&A, and business development into play as you help deliver integrated and sustainable solutions as a management consulting trainee. In this position, you will gain insights into a global consultancy while obtaining solid knowledge of what it takes to be a trusted advisor.
We are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, sustainable finance, and social sustainability. We specialise in business and sustainability consulting within the industries of buildings & cities, energy, transport & infrastructure, industry & manufacturing, water, financial institutions & investors. In doing so, we provide sustainability strategies, financial advisory and implementation plans as a one-stop shop for our clients. We believe that the true value of our offerings arises from the ability to combine traditional business and strategy consulting with true sustainability expertise within the same team to provide one coherent solution addressing both issues at once.

As a management consultancy in Ramboll, our projects are characterised by bridging commercial business understanding and deep technical expertise. You will be challenged with a busy workday in an interdisciplinary environment, where you will learn about all parts of a project, from tendering to project execution. You will be an integrated part of our team, and from the moment you join us, you will be supported in your personal and professional development. You will gain experience from challenging and complex projects and participate in training tailored to our team and your professional experience.
Potential projects within strategy and M&A, sustainable finance and ESG you can be involved in are:
- Market studies
- Materiality assessment and sustainability strategy

- Decarbonisation strategy and road-mapping
- Transformation, change, and implementation
Your work tasks will vary and depend on the on-going projects at the given time. Typical project responsibilities for an intern include research, data, market, and competitor analysis, creating presentations, writing reports, and participating in client workshops.
For this journey, we believe your starting point is:
- Currently studying or about to begin your graduate studies or relevant higher education, typically within business, economics, sustainability, or engineering
- Among the best in your class
- Relevant work experience from student jobs, internships, or extracurricular activities
- A structured approach with strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
- Ability to think strategically, have proactive attitude and solution driven mind-set
- Ability to work independently, but at the same time be a team player
- Experience in using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Professional proficiency in English (Proficiency in Finnish and/or Swedish is not mandatory, but it will be beneficial)
