Job Description:
At Regions, the Trade Finance Analyst serves as the primary analytical support for Trade Finance Relationship Managers and Trade Finance Portfolio Managers in the origination and execution of Trade Finance products and services, including Export Financing, Cross-Border Trade Services, Standby Letters of Credit, and Supply Chain Finance. Analysts also assist in the cultivation of client relationships by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in industry and client related strategic and tactical planning. Analysts participate in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. Analysts provide these services as part of a client team that includes Trade Finance RMs and Trade Finance Portfolio Managers, members from various Line of Business Teams (Corporate, Commercial, and Real Estate Banking for example) as well as well as intensive collaboration with the Trade Finance Operations Team. Analysts are expected to split time between a) supporting live deals and pitches, b) ongoing sales support, and c) research/analytical support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports Trade Finance Relationship team in client relationship responsibilities, including interaction with current and prospective clients
- Interfaces and builds client relationships working with Trade Finance Relationship team to ensure quality account support
- Prepares written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses
- Completes client industry and bank research, as well as comparisons to peers within the industry
- Utilize existing tools to provide intelligence on markets/companies to Trade Relationship Team to assist in their prospecting/sales efforts
- Respond to daily Export LC Confirmation/Discount requests from clients
- Assist with new client onboarding including Compliance Documentation and customer profiles to be utilized by Trade Finance Operations. This would also include completing/verifying completeness of Trade Services User Agreements for new client that will be utilizing digital platform(s)
- Support Sales team by customizing Trade Finance pitch materials to be used in client calls. Manage/improve catalogue of internal and external materials
- Run profitability exercises (RAROC) for new credit related opportunities
- Assist in annual Trade Finance Services pricing review exercise
- Assist in other responsibilities as assigned by Trade Finance Sales Leader. This might include project assignment, work on new product initiatives, etc.
- Executes on other items as requested for specific client and prospect meetings
Successful candidates will be expected to assume a substantial amount of responsibility. The Analyst will be required to work in multiple roles and on multiple projects, both independently and as part of a team. Analysts typically work three – five years before having the opportunity to advance to a Trade Finance Relationship Manager or Portfolio Manager position.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

- Bachelor’s degree
- Or High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience
Preferences
- Bilingual
- Coursework in Corporate Finance or related field
- Past relevant experience preferred (i.e., summer internships or a minimum of one year of experience)

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
