BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are looking for a full-time Technical Writer (Summer Student) to join our team for a 4 month summer term (May-August). This role is perfect for a student who is passionate about user experience and technical communication.


This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park, AB office. 

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Develop step-by-step user guides, FAQs, and instructional documents to help users effectively utilize our software.
  • Write and edit copy for user interfaces (UI) to ensure clarity, consistency, and user-friendliness.
  • Create and update software system-generated email notifications to ensure clarity and consistency with our brand voice.
  • Produce tutorial videos and visual guides that simplify complex concepts for users.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, software developers, and other team members to ensure documentation aligns with product goals and user needs.
  • Maintain and update a knowledge base of documentation and FAQs as our software evolves.
  • Apply UX writing principles to create user-centered, easy-to-understand content.
  • Follow and contribute to our software style guide.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor of Communication Studies Program, with a major in Professional Communications.
